Minutes of BSWA lunch meeting ALILA, UBUD , Friday 30 January 2009 1 The gathering started approx. 11.30 hrs. 2 Presentation on the concept of Balance with Environment, working with Local Culture and still hotel gain good Revenue, by General Manager of Alila Ubud, Mr. Jork Bosselaar. By asking guest prior to their arrival (guest Preference) – we help preserving the environment, make guest happy and eventually increase the services of the hotel. (i.e. Would guest would like to have shower cap in the room, how many times to change bed sheet, etc.) – Surprisingly, a lot of guests re happy to support and help the environment surround us by answering i.e. Change bed sheet not necessarily everyday, no need shower cap, etc. Let’s look at our spas, how much we wasted our water, plastics, etc, and start to calculate and save where necessary to save our planet. 3 In line with point 2 – the Sub Com of Environment in APSWC and BSWA are having brief meting to discuss further activities to support the environment. These activities will be liaised with BHA’s environmental Department also. 4 Tea Presentation given by Mr. Kib Roby from Dharma Tea – a brief benefit of Tea and History of Tea were explained– and the Sencha Green tea was served during the lunch. The Company also is able to accommodate the needs of special creation of tea for the spas include its packaging. Coordinator • EU Cascade Training 20-22 January 2009 had been done. • Schedule Cascade Training of Spa operators to be received by BSWA latest by 1 Feb 2009. • 2nd Batch - students Cibtac - interview is scheduled in February, Class will starts in April - (Student Forms were distributed) - will be emailed again. • Eu Grant Annual meeting - in Bangkok 16-18 Feb 2009 • APSWC Meeting - Feb 2009 in Bangkok 20-22 Feb 2009 • Spa Business Class – February 10th and March • March - No Spa lunch (due to nyepi, galungan, etc.) • April - AGM BSWA • Survey -   members and non members comment - there will be email send out on this with the Linkage to fill the survey.  Please take your time to fill this. • New Membership fee - March - New category will be announced. • Asia Spa crystal award - Bali Island as Capital of Spa – members received the Copy of the certificate during the Lunch. • Erika kindly collected Gathering venue from members who attended the lunch: February (Nusa Dua Beach Hotel) - April (Ayodya - tentative) - May, etc, we are still waiting for the offers. 6 Next Lunch 27 February, 2009 will be at Nusa Dua Beach Hotel, Nusa Dua. 7 Thank you very much to ALILA, and Chef Shahram de Contades for the nice meals, the hospitality.       back to latest news list back to top
